TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) regulations make it mandatory for all Indian telemarketers to register on the DLT platform. DLT stands for Distributed Ledger Technology, which is based on blockchain and used to minimize SMS spamming. While previous regulations only required bulk SMS sends to register for DLT, TRAI now requires all senders to fulfill the requirement.
As you start your SMS marketing journey, we will guide you further on the DLT registration process. We are the No.1 SMS Provider in India, and it remains our endeavor to ensure that clients have a smooth onboarding process.
Your entity must have a unique identity, for which it is mandatory to complete the KYC (Know Your Customer) process. You need information including GST number, PAN, TAN, and CIN.
This requires senders and entities to decide on the right headers, which include Promotional, Service Implicit, Transactional, and Service Explicit. A unique Sender ID is assigned to each header.
A Content Template is required, which the entity will own exclusively. Each template is assigned a special ID shared on DLT SMS platforms.
The final step is approval from the DLT platform. Once your templates are approved per the required Excel format, you can mail the same to TheSMSPoint.
Please note that all Content Templates must contain a brand name, the exclusive brand name/business name/trademark in the content field. Enterprises looking for DLT Operator Registration should pay the required fees to get a unique Entity Id from the chosen operator. The process can take up to 72 hours.
