However, you can receive texts from all numbers, including international numbers, on Dedicated Inbound Numbers or long codes. As long as the subscriber is registered on a mobile network, they can send messages to a DIN / long code at their cost.

In India, a message to a short code is charged at Rs.3, while messages sent to a DIN / long code are charged as per the SMS plan of the user.
